Hwy 23 between Willmar and Clara City: 2017 construction

Hwy 23 resurfacing project from Willmar to Clara City starts May 8
The Hwy 23 resurfacing project from Willmar to Clara City will start Monday, May 8.
This project will be done under traffic. Motorists should expect short delays during daylight hours. Construction is expected to be finished, weather permitting, by June 11.
Duininck, Inc. is the contractor on the project. The total project cost is $2.1 million.
MnDOT asks motorists to slow down and pay attention while driving through work zones. Motorists who speed through a work zone or who disobey work zone flaggers face a $300 fine.

Upcoming ramp closures on I-94 in Mpls will impact MnPASS customers, carpools and transit

MnPASS Educate
On Monday, May 8 there will be some changes on westbound I-94 in Minneapolis that will affect MnPASS customers. Beginning *Monday, May 8 through June 12,* westbound I-94 to westbound I-394 will be reduced to a single lane. *All motorists traveling on westbound I-94 to westbound I-394 will use the I-394 HOV/Reversible Lanes.*
MnPASS customers will not be charged a fee to use the westbound I-394 Reversible Lane during this time as the lanes will be open to *all* motorists traveling on westbound I-94 to westbound I-394. MnPASS fees and regulations on westbound I-394 will begin west of Hwy 100. Motorists traveling from downtown Minneapolis to westbound I-394 will use the general purpose lanes on westbound I-394.
*Eastbound I-394 MnPASS customers will not have access to the reversible lanes*.
During this time, the I-394 Reversible Lanes will be *closed* to *all eastbound* I-394 and Hwy 100 traffic. All eastbound I-394 traffic between Hwy 100 and I-94 will be on the general purpose lanes on I-394.
While this is a temporary inconvenience for motorists, it is the best option for repairing and improving a bridge while keeping traffic moving through a busy interchange. Construction crews are working on the bridges that carry the ramps from I-94 to I-394. Crews cannot have vehicles on the ramps while working on the bridges. Putting all westbound I-94 to westbound I-394 traffic onto the reversible lanes proved to be the best option for keeping traffic moving.

Hwy 14 lane closures at Owatonna start May 1, I-35 ramp closure to follow
More lane closures are scheduled to begin for the Steele County bridge replacements on I-35 and Hwy 14.
Lane closures on Hwy14 between I-35 and Steele County Road 45 will occur May 1 as crews prepare to replace two bridges on this stretch of highway south of Owatonna.
Later in the week, the northbound I-35 off-ramp to Hwy 14 east at Owatonna will close and traffic will be detoured. Motorists traveling northbound on I-35 to eastbound Hwy 14 will be detoured. The detour route involves three traffic ramp loops: Hwy 14 west ramp to the I-35 south ramp to the Hwy 14 east ramp to connect with eastbound traffic. Traffic on Hwy 14 will travel in single lanes in each direction in the westbound lanes during construction.
The traffic changes are part of an overall project south of Owatonna where 10 bridges will be replaced over two years on I-35 (six bridges) and Hwy 14 (four bridges).
Meanwhile traffic on I-35 south of Owatonna continues to travel in single lanes in each direction in the northbound lanes. Southbound lanes are closed until mid-September while three bridges are replaced. The Straight River Rest Area for southbound traffic is closed during construction. T

Hwy 10 from Hwy 59 to Summit Ave in Detroit Lakes: 2017 construction

Hwy 53 project begins final season of work

Hwy 53 relocation between Eveleth and Virginia: 2015-2017 construction

Hwy 53 project begins final season of work
As the weather turns warmer, work is ramping up on the Highway 53 relocation project!
In the next few weeks, workers will continue to build the deck for the bridge over Rouchleau pit.
Over the last month, crews have placed formwork, which will temporarily support the concrete bridge deck until it cures and develops strength to support itself. Starting this week, they will begin placing the reinforcement bar for the deck, which is scheduled to be poured in May and June. Workers also will begin installing water and sewer lines on the underside of the bridge. Crews are also building the formwork for the concrete deck on the Highway 135 bridge.
Work on the roadway is set to begin near the end of the month. Crews will move the traffic on Highway 53 to the southbound lanes the week of April 10 in preparation for the reconstruction of the northbound lanes. That work should be complete in August.
Crews will conduct periodic lane closures on Hwy 53 on the north end of the project while building crossovers and widening the roadway in spots. This work will prepare for a work on Highway 135, which will be closed and detoured in late April until late July. That detour is on a project road, which includes some of the old Mineview road. A map will be available on the project website next week.

Don’t forget! Ramp from westbound Hwy 10 to north bound I-35W in Arden Hills closes Monday, April 3

Ramp from westbound Hwy 10 to northbound I-35W in Arden Hills closes Monday, April 3

Youll need to find an alternate route to reach Interstate 35W from westbound Hwy 10 next Monday when the ramp to northbound Interstate 35W closes at 9 a.m. Monday, April 3. The ramp will remain closed and detoured through the end of August 2017.
The ramp, located on the Highway 10 diagonal between I-694 and I-35W, will close so construction crews can realign and shift traffic onto a new ramp bridge at the interchange. A second ramp will be built under the new ramp to carry northbound I-35W traffic to Ramsey County Road H. It also will provide direct access to the Rice Creek Commons [ http://www.ricecreekcommons.com/?utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term= ] development on the site of the former Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP).
During the summer-long closure, you will need to detour west on I-694 to reach northbound I-35W. If you are traveling west on County Road 96 you will have to continue westbound past the Highway 10 ramp to reach I-35W.
Reconstruction of the interchange at I-35W and County Road H was completed in the fall of 2016 and features roundabouts at each end of the new County Road H bridge. County Road H now features a new wider bridge overI-35Wwith two traffic lanes in each direction and a regional trail for bicycles and pedestrians.
