I35 between Duluth and the Twin cities
Work is well underway on many projects along the I-35 corridor between Duluth and
the Twin Cities. Upcoming changes include:
Lane restrictions will begin on Monday, May 9 between Moose Lake and Mahtowa. Traffic
will be restricted to a single lane in each direction for this 14 mile stretch.
Forthcoming ramp closures on this project will include:
* Southbound ramps at County Road 6 (Barnum) will close beginning June 21 for 25
* Southbound ramps at Hwy 27 (Moose Lake) will close beginning June 8 for 21 calendar

The northbound I-35 ramp to Cloquet (Hwy 33) will close on Monday, May 16 until
approximately June 24, 2011. The detour for northbound traffic to Hwy 33 will follow
I-35 north to the Hwy 45 ramps at Scanlon to turn around to southbound I-35 and

Also beginning on Monday, May 16 will be periodic weekday lane closures between
Hinckley and Sandstone. Traffic will not be diverted to a single lane on one side

Construction on I-35 at the Banning Junction bridge began on Monday, April 25.
The Hwy 23 bridge over I-35 is closed until approximately June 17, but the ramps
