The I-35 Mega Project in Duluth is well underway

The I-35 Mega Project in Duluth is well underway and we wanted to update you on
some important closures:

Traffic is currently restricted to a single lane in each direction from Central
to Garfield Avenues. Today the ramp from northbound I-35 to northbound Hwy 53 (Piedmont
Avenue) will close and be detoured until October. Tomorrow (Thursday, April 7) the
ramp from northbound I-35 to eastbound Hwy 2 (Bong Bridge) will close and be detoured
until October.

Between Sunday afternoon/evening , April 10, 2011 and early Monday morning April
 11, 2011 the following traffic changes will occur:

* Southbound I-35 from Garfield Avenue to 46th Avenue W will close and traffic will
be diverted to northbound lanes
* Northbound I-35 from Central Avenue to 46th Avenue W will close and traffic will
be diverted to southbound lanes

As a part of this traffic change, the following ramps will close:

* Southbound I-35 to 27th Avenue West  (Will re-open later in the summer when the
ramp from southbound I-35 to 40th Avenue West is closed.)
* Northbound I-535 (Blatnik Bridge) to Southbound I-35
* Southbound Hwy 53 (Piedmont Avenue) to Southbound I-35

These ramps will remain closed until October except as noted above.
